Windows 10 is here! Useful features for end-users include a new Start menu, web browser, personal digital assistant, and more. IT admins will be more (or at least equally) interested in features like Azure Active Directory support and Windows Update for Business.

The Hull and East Riding branch of the RSPCA has recently undertaken a complete overhaul of their internal IT systems thanks to donations arranged through the tt-exchange programme.
“The centre deals with rehabilitation and rehoming,” explains Alison Ripley, the branch’s General Manager. “We see cruelty, neglect and abandonment, but we try hard to play a preventative role rather than simply coming in after the event.”

Microsoft has just announced that Windows 10 will be offered as a free-of-charge upgrade on devices running Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows Phone. The free upgrade offer will only be available until 31 July 2016. This approach marks a change of tack for Microsoft, which has always charged for upgrades to their operating systems in the past.
